Just Starting Out and Determined to Succeed
Michelle is 18 years old and has finished Year 12. She was quite happy not to go to university and managed to get a traineeship with the local council as an administration officer. The pay isn't great but she is living at home with her parents and a lot of her friends are finding it hard to even get a job.
Michelle's parents have always lived from pay cheque to pay cheque but Michelle is determined that she is not going to struggle that way. She wants to be financially secure one day, she doesn't know how to do it or how long it will take but she is determined. She watches her friends 'blow' their money and while she still likes to have a good time, she is careful how and what she spends.
Michelle has some money left over at the end of every week but she has no idea what to do with it!
Michelle has some choices:
- Does she have enough spare money to cover the insurance and registration on her car?
- What does she do with the money that she has left over at the end of every week?
- What options does she have with her super and does she need to worry about it anyway?
- How can she reach her goal of financial security?
Join Me and Money and explore the Money Program to learn about a range of strategies that Michelle could implement to reach her goals.
